Editorial Policy
Last updated: 6 July 2026
This Editorial Policy describes how Findory selects, researches, and writes about the products we feature. It is the document we hold ourselves to - and the one you can hold us to as a reader.
Independence
Findory is an independent publication. Editorial decisions are made by our writers and editors, not by advertisers, affiliates, or brand partners. We do not accept paid placements, and the order in which products appear in our guides is based on editorial judgement - never on how much a brand has paid us.
How we choose products
We look for a clear use: preparing food, organizing a room, connecting devices or another specific task. We compare specifications, limitations and support information rather than treating a novel feature as a reason to buy.
We look for clear specifications, reputable support information, and a use case readers can evaluate. If a product becomes unavailable or its listing changes materially, we update or remove it.
How we evaluate information
We review product documentation, retailer information, compatibility requirements, regional availability, and the practical trade-offs a buyer should consider. We do not describe a product as hands-on tested unless we can substantiate that claim. Product pages distinguish editorial context from details that readers should verify with the current retailer listing.
Reviews and ratings
We avoid presenting retailer ratings or review counts as our own evidence. When a page contains a comparison, it explains the criteria and limitations so readers can decide whether they apply.
Affiliate links and monetisation
Some of our links are affiliate links. If you click one and make a purchase, we may earn a commission at no additional cost to you. This does not affect what we recommend or the order in which we recommend it. A product that pays us a higher commission does not get a better rating. Read our Affiliate Disclosure for full details.
Where advertising appears, it must be labelled and kept separate from editorial content.
Corrections
We make mistakes sometimes. When we do, we correct them promptly and note the change at the bottom of the affected article. If you spot an error, please contact us with a link and a description of what is wrong.
Conflicts of interest
Our writers and editors are required to disclose any personal or financial interest in a product they cover. If a writer owns a competing product or has a relationship with a brand they are writing about, that disclosure will appear at the top of the article.
AI assistance
We use AI tools in research, drafting and editing. AI-assisted work still needs source checks and editorial review; using these tools is not evidence of hands-on testing. The author attribution alone should not be read as a claim that a person tested a product.
